"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Ephesians 2:10

The missions committee here at Bar Mills Community Church is dedicated to serving many organizations from our local food bank to worldwide organizations. It is the belief of our church that we as a community should follow Jesus' teachings about doing good works and giving to those less fortunate than us.
Each month we support a new mission.

American Baptist Church USAAs American Baptists, we serve as the hands and feet of Christ. We’re doing what we can to heal a hurting world. This means feeding the hungry; empowering pastors, lay leaders & youth to spread Christ’s love; protecting the environment; promoting Christian unity and more.
United Mission is the vehicle that makes this happen. United Mission is the simple, efficient way American Baptists pool financial resources to maximize the amount of good we can do. These funds are used to connect resources with needs, resulting in meaningful change – and it’s all for God’s greater glory! |
Friendship HouseFriendship House is an organization committed to helping men seeking to overcome their addictions, mainly by providing guidance, encouragement, and a family atmosphere. We accomplish
this by staffing our house with loving, compassionate, individuals who understand addiction and live with the guests. All of our funding comes from private donations. There are hundreds of individuals, as well as businesses, churches and other organizations who believe in what we do and contribute to this work on a regular basis. We also seek grant funding from foundations, trusts/philanthropic organizations that support and encourage the type of work we do. We receive no local, state or federal monies. |
Church World ServicesChurch World Service was born in 1946, in the aftermath of World War II. Seventeen denominations came together to form an agency “to do in partnership what none of us could hope to do as well alone.” The mission: Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, comfort the aged, shelter the homeless.
The cycle of poverty can end. Empowering vulnerable women, men and children to grow their own potential is key. We work with communities to identify their various needs and accompany them as they craft and maintain sustainable, local solutions. While a CWS program may be classified as ‘food security,’ the overall focus is much broader than one particular issue. Our global development programs turn potential into reality in a continuum of care. One community, one family, one precious child at a time. Join us. We need you. |
More Local Missions
Here at Bar Mills Community Church we enjoy reaching out to our community with helping hands and our arms open wide. There are several local organizations that we support such as the Buxton Community Cupboard and the Buxton Toy Box.
The Loving Cup also known as the BMCC Ministers Discretionary Fund. It is supported by contributions from church members and friends, and by the Women’s Friendship Circle. When someone in need approaches the pastor, or comes by referral, we are able to respond financially because of your generosity and compassion. This is a significant ministry of our church and we appreciate your continued support.
